Wendy Biller comes from the world of choreography, where her eclectic work ranges from The Bangles’ Walk Like an Egyptian to Paul Simon’s You Can Call Me Al.  She has worked with director Donald Sanders (Ensemble for the Romantic Century, Signature Theater), designer Vanessa James, and artists Roy Lichtenstein, Red Grooms and Alex Katz.  Her videos have been nominated for MTV Awards and Billboard Awards for Best Choreography, and she is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts grant.  Her choreography has been staged in multiple venues in Europe and the USA, including the Public Theater, PS 1, New York Art Theatre, The Kitchen and Dance Theater Workshop.  She directed the music video Pleasure for recording artist Sarah Nagourney, as well as the short films Paula Lemon and Sarah and Her Guests.  She makes her feature directing debut with Mumsy. She shares the Writer’s Guild of America Award with Christopher Hawthorne for the Emmy-nominated Sea People.  She is also an award-winning playwright  (for her theatre credits, click on Theatre).


Christopher Hawthorne graduated from Columbia University, where he won the Seymour Brick Award in Playwriting and an Evans Fellowship for the study of German dramatists.  This led him to be appointed Assistant Director of the New York Art Theatre, where he also acted in William Burroughs’ Naked Lunch and Ivan Turgenev’s The Torrents of Spring.  He then worked as an executive at Showtime Networks and a consultant at Starz Networks.  His debut film Parents, directed by Bob Balaban and starring Randy Quaid and Mary Beth Hurt, won the Prix de Critiques at the Festival Avoriaz and was named one of the Films of the Year by the British Film Yearbook.  His script for the horror movie Bedroom Town was chosen as a Top Ten script at the Slamdance Film Festival, where it was given a staged reading.  Parents was recently re-released in Blu-Ray by Lionsgate.  Watch a clip here:
